Dear Parents,
With spring I usually see plants on windowsills, but this must have been a bad growing season, no new plants in sight.
Walking down the hall this morning I had to stop to read all the activities happening in the classrooms. Fourth grade is the most colorful with all they are doing in religion class. The fifth grade did a timeline with Miss Conte in their social studies class. Sixth grade’s Mi Familia Arbol are beautifully done. The trees these students drew with their families make up for the lack of plants growing on windowsills. Mr. Rivas is proud of the work they did. The sixth grade also joined the Great American Race writing to schools around the country. So far the only letter they received back is from Phoenix. I am sure others are on their way. If you want to learn about cell division, check out the Grade 7 posters on Mr. Byrnes's wall. One of my favorite stops is the first grade classroom. This group is always so excited about learning, no matter what they are doing. Let’s hope this love of learning follows them all the way up the grades.
